The news is now that Zep will indeed tour in 2009, once all band members have wrapped up their current projects. It's time to plan, to buy Led Zeppelin tickets and to wait, patiently for those guitar gods to finally walk onstage.

Led Zep Tour is Possible, Suggests Robert Plant

Finally we have some reliable evidence that this mythic Led Zep trip will soon be upon us, me hearties! At the Friday January 25, 2008 halftime show for the New York Knicks and Philadelphaia 76'ers at Madison Square Garden, Gill Martin interviewed Led Zep man Robert Plant.

Plant had just watched the Knicks cheerleaders dancing like crazy to Zep's "Rock 'n' Roll" (they were absolutely psyched that Plant was there to see it), and Martin was quick to state that she’d told her producers that this interview “would definitely be going more than a minute tonight”. Martin asked Plant whether he would ever be appearing again at the Garden, and Plant's central message seemed to be that Led Zep felt they had not completely given their best shot at a lot of their blistering catalog over the years, and a desire to "get it right" seemed prominent in his mind. This is excellent news for Led Zeppelin fans, as Plant suggested the supergroup may well be looking to blow the world away with state-of-the-art technology and special effects sometime soon! Martin asked Plant about the recent reunion at London’s O2, and Plant answered very explicitly, in my opinion. It sounded like a slightly scrambled, pseudo-cryptic message to the faithful that something was coming along, and that something is a Led Zeppelin tour of the United States of America.

It's started, and it's real. The near-mythic Led Zep 2008 Reunion Tour kicked off in London last night amid scenes of great jubilation and splendor. The super-rockers even performed "For Your Life", a tune they have never unleashed on a live audience before, and the crowd went away well pleased, by all accounts. Led Zeppelin tickets pose a problem for the serious rock connoisseur, but I am a sly fox, and my love of this band and their ageless music means I am your Led Zep tickets savior, my sons and daughters of the ancient forest of Mordor.

Out of the ashes of the band The The Yardbirds arose one of the greatest bands in the history of hard rock: Led Zeppelin. Generally regarded as one of the first bands to start the development and influence of heavy metal music, Led Zeppelin remains as popular today as it did during its heyday during the early and mid 70’s. Zeppelin formed in 1968 when The Yardbirds finally called it quits, however, the band still had a number of concert obligations to fulfill. Jimmy Page and then bassist Chris Dreja were authorized by the other members to use the name to finish playing the rest of the dates. They secured singer Robert Plant and drummer John Bonham whom had played together previously in Plant's old band, the Band of Joy. When Dreja dropped out, it was suggested that they get bassist John Paul Jones whom had previously had a collaboration with Page. After completing the rest of the tour dates as The New Yardbirds, the band changed their name in late 1968 to Led Zeppelin, and a legend was born.
