Led Zep Tour is Possible, Suggests Robert Plant
Finally we have some reliable evidence that this mythic Led Zep trip will soon be upon us, me hearties! At the Friday January 25, 2008 halftime show for the New York Knicks and Philadelphaia 76'ers at Madison Square Garden, Gill Martin interviewed Led Zep man Robert Plant.

Plant had just watched the Knicks cheerleaders dancing like crazy to Zep's "Rock 'n' Roll" (they were absolutely psyched that Plant was there to see it), and Martin was quick to state that she’d told her producers that this interview “would definitely be going more than a minute tonight”. Martin asked Plant whether he would ever be appearing again at the Garden, and Plant's central message seemed to be that Led Zep felt they had not completely given their best shot at a lot of their blistering catalog over the years, and a desire to "get it right" seemed prominent in his mind. This is excellent news for Led Zeppelin fans, as Plant suggested the supergroup may well be looking to blow the world away with state-of-the-art technology and special effects sometime soon! Martin asked Plant about the recent reunion at London’s O2, and Plant answered very explicitly, in my opinion. It sounded like a slightly scrambled, pseudo-cryptic message to the faithful that something was coming along, and that something is a Led Zeppelin tour of the United States of America.
“In the past we never gave it the right amount of preparation and energy”, he said, suggesting that they were up for one last tour, one perfect, gleaming, steaming, barreling bundle of thrills, laughs, and feedback excitement, a consensus from beyond the conscious, from before the sun that echoes and rings around the sacred nodes and corridors of the primeval knowledge that Led Zeppelin tickets are gonna be on sale very soon!
Can you imagine what a proper Led Zep concert would look and sound like, the boys up there doing their thing, complete with lights and other devices? How much would you pay for Led Zeppelin concert tickets this time around, seriously?
"I remember 1973, just about”, Plant said, “We'd made a movie, The Song Remains the Same. We'd just started to use pyrotechnics, and it was very funny, we made so many mistakes, so many explosions at the wrong time. They once made a movie called Spinal Tap, about rock n roll excess and how ridiculous it was. And that (1973 gig) was...particularly ridiculous and very good fun!"
When Martin referred to the recent performance at the O2 in London - Led Zep's first time in almost one score years playing together - Plant said, "We made a lot of mistakes over the years, trying to make it work. In the past we never gave it the right amount of preparation and energy. We were just visiting the place that we came from, but we got it right this time. It was a great night, and Jason Bonham filled in for his dad. It was great, it was wonderful", as the Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive" played in the background, and those cheerleaders danced once more.
"Any chance we'll see you guys back together again here at Madison Square Garden?" asked Martin.
Plant replied, "Well, I'm about to go on tour with Alison Krauss. I don’t what is around the corner, I just like to play with those guys… it’s just like going back and putting lots of things right.”
This wasn’t just a spontaneous thing, people. Those Led Zeppelin tickets are rumbling like an avalanche towards us as we speak. Led Zep concert tickets coming atcha like a train, a mystery train, and the only real mystery now is, “When?” and not “If?”
Martin asked Plant one final question: “If you could perform one song by Zeppelin right now in front of all these people what would it be?”
Without hesitation, Plant answered, “Kashmir”.
Eeeeeyyyyaaaaaa!!!!!!!!
I’m scared, I’m shaking in my boots, for I know what pyrotechnics and wild effects this band of awesome rockers is gonna unleash on me and my friends when we buy Led Zeppelin tickets and take our concert seats. I know that deep in my marrow is a little amphibious warty thing aching to be released by the kiss of Kashmir, the gnarled bridges in my brain, slippery and green as they are, are about to be polished up for some major use. I’m a nervous wreck, flexing my earholes and my synapses, like a condemned rock ‘n’ roll addict, and my fix is gonna kill me. All step up for an overdose of Led Zep. If I can buy ten Led Zeppelin concert tickets I will do, and I’ll personally use ‘em all! While you're waiting for your Led Zep tickets, grab some DMB tickets in the meantime- it isn't Zep, but its a good substitute!
