Finally we have some reliable evidence that this mythic Led Zep trip will soon be upon us, me hearties! At the Friday January 25, 2008 halftime show for the New York Knicks and Philadelphaia 76'ers at Madison Square Garden, Gill Martin interviewed Led Zep man Robert Plant.
Plant had just watched the Knicks cheerleaders dancing like crazy to Zep's "Rock 'n' Roll" (they were absolutely psyched that Plant was there to see it), and Martin was quick to state that she’d told her producers that this interview “would definitely be going more than a minute tonight”. Martin asked Plant whether he would ever be appearing again at the Garden, and Plant's central message seemed to be that Led Zep felt they had not completely given their best shot at a lot of their blistering catalog over the years, and a desire to "get it right" seemed prominent in his mind. This is excellent news for Led Zeppelin fans, as Plant suggested the supergroup may well be looking to blow the world away with state-of-the-art technology and special effects sometime soon! Martin asked Plant about the recent reunion at London’s O2, and Plant answered very explicitly, in my opinion. It sounded like a slightly scrambled, pseudo-cryptic message to the faithful that something was coming along, and that something is a Led Zeppelin tour of the United States of America - can you imagine the chaos when these concert tickets are released?
